kmail, kdepim - Robbi3 - 15th August 2016

One Question. Is this the full KDE suite with kdepim, kmail....

RE: kmail, kdepim - leszek - 15th August 2016

KMail 5.2.3 comes preinstalled. You just need to activate akonadi in systemsettings plasma-servives to use it.

I installed Maui without problems. I attempted to set up Kmail & received a message that Akonadi is not operational. I found the Akonadi setting under Plasma Services in System settings and turned it on, clicked apply, logged out & back in. I restarted Kmail and received the same message that Akonadi was not operational. I checked the Plasma Services and Akonadi was turned off. Also have the same problem with KOrganizer and KAddressBook.

Any fix for this because I rely on Kmail heavily for email handling?

Try,
1 "akonadictl status"
2 "akonadictl start"

Without " of course!
Good Luck

RE: kmail, kdepim - Robbi3 - 16th August 2016

finally after playing around in kmail settings, everything is working.
I only noticed strange behavior when i click on a link in thunderbird or Kmail a new firefox browser opens, instead of my already opened firefox tab. Never experienced this behavior before.
So when I click on a link a new tab on my already opened firefox should open. Is there a setting for this?

OK. I went to the CLI and status was stopped. I then had to issued the start command twice but for now akonadi appears to be running.

Thanks for your help!

Maybe something worth mentioning in another thread aswell. (please do it in the future if you have another problem open up a new thread as it helps in terms of better overview)

My assumption is that the default application settings has "firefox" set as app command there for the default browser. If you change it to the http asigned mimetype (not sure if called that way but its the first option) then you can try setting the mimetype for http for using firefox (if this is not set by default which normally should be).
Maybe that fixes the issue for you.

Problem is still there, this problem excists on Netrunner rolling also. Not on Manjaro KDE or any other distro´s i have tried. So it´s a specific netrunner configuring thing.
I really don´t know what to do about it.
