[Solved] Lost DE after Intel microcode update - TomFo - 12th January 2018
Greetings all,
I installed the latest Intel microcode update and now can only log into a console. The plasma DE no longer appears as it used to. Doing a STARTX from CLI only gives me a cursor and a black screen. I use Nvidia-340 drivers. Is there a way to get the DE back without having to reinstall?

Purging Nvidia driver, rebooting and then adding the Nvidia driver back cleared the issue.
