I bought today a cheap new graphics card. It is an msi Geforce Gt 710.
It seems it is working and I have also installed the new driver recommended by the MAUI OS .
I am not sure I have put it correctly on the motherboard because the card doen't fix completely !! Somehow, there is a one millimetre or less difference....!!!
The card is a PCI-E 2.0 but when I check it with MAUI I get this you can see on the photo !!!
PCI 1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So.... Is it ok or I have to give it back to the shop and buy something else ???
Thanks a lot !
PCI1 would be correct, this is just how computers identify the PCI / PCI-E bus to the OS. The card will also only use the amount of space in the socket that it was designed to use, depending on the type and version of the bus it's designed to for. Cards are also not always cut down to the exact millimetre, nor are the sockets themselves, these are just plastic, fibreglass, and resins.
You should be fine.
