Full Version: BUG: Flash of desktop before screen unlock on return from Suspend
You're currently viewing a stripped down version of our content. View the full version with proper formatting.
When entering screen unlock window on return (wake up) from suspend, the user desktop screen is shortly flashing "through" the screen unlock window background. This results in that the user desktop content can be viewed before a valid unlock password has been entered.

Latest Edition 64 bit

For privacy and security reasons this must be concerned as high priority/ T Nilzon
A limitation of X-Server.
On standby it isn't locking the screen but on resume.
I think this is reported upstream already.
Hope they make it high priority then.
This is a technologic limitation that will be definitely fixed with Wayland.
Plasma is already trying hard to achieve such a thing but is limited by current technolgy.
If there is anything you might to add or vote for please see the upstream bugs.kde.org regarding this issue.

OK, is it possible to replace X-server with Wayland today?
Yes it is possible though I would not recommend it until the Plasma devs give it a green light.
You can test wayland builds of kde neon from here https://files.kde.org/neon/images/plasma...e/current/
