Plasma 5.10.2 should bring media controls on lock screen. I have upgraded from 17.03 and noticed that this (very helpful) feature is missing.

How can I choose / activate the correct lock screen?

It might be our theme might not yet support this feature. Try using the Breeze lockscreen and it should work.

Correct. To shutdown the pc you need to login first.
