Plasma consumes 35% of cpu while idle! - LordDan - 20th December 2016 Greetings. I was liking Maui 2 at best, however, my cpu temperature was being kept high. Looking at ksysguard resources, I found that a process of plasma keeps using the processor by an intermittent rate of 35% while standing idle. Something must be wrong ... This is just too much. Has someone seen that too? RE: Plasma consumes 35% of cpu while idle! - leszek - 20th December 2016 Do you have any widgets on the desktop besides the default configuration ? Does this 35% CPU usage stay even after a restart of plasmashell ? (e.g. ALT+F2 kquitapp plasmashell && kstart plasmashell) RE: Plasma consumes 35% of cpu while idle! - Pliny.D.Elder - 20th December 2016 What process is hogging the CPU? In Konsole type : top Disable background processes systemsettings/startup and shutdown/ background services Enable one by one (check cpu) You could make another user account and see how that compares Stop/Start plasmashell : kquitapp plasmashell && plasmashell & Did this happen after adding any wigets? RE: Plasma consumes 35% of cpu while idle! - RealPTR - 24th March 2017 Does your computer run Baloo (file indexing system)? System Settings -> Plasma Services You can disable this without much loss of anything. |
