PC upgrade went awesome - no more nvidia - chatan - 22nd December 2016 If you look back at many of my previous netrunner and maui forums posts, I’ve always had headaches with the on-board nvidia card and its legacy drivers on my old desktop PC: Quote:PC:Machine: Mobo: N/A model: NF-MCP61 Bios: Phoenix v: 6.00 PG date: 09/05/2007 Tired of those nvidia headaches and just itching to spend money and upgrade, I spent $210 with free shipping and got new Motherboard, AMD APU (with stock cooler and on board graphics) and 16GB of RAM. Nothing fancy, since I don’t do gaming or heavy processing: Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB Kit (8GBx2) 1600 MHz Clock Speed DDR3 PC3-12800 240-Pin UDIMM Memory Module (BLS2KIT8G3D1609DS1S00) $89.00 AMD A8-7600 Quad-Core 3.1 GHz Socket FM2+ 65W Desktop Processor AMD Radeon R7 (AD7600YBJABOX) $72.50 (comes with stock cooler) Gigabyte AMD FM2+ A68H SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 mATX ATX DDR3 2133 NA Motherboards GA-F2A68HM-H $49.00 So I had a couple of cocktails, pulled out old motherboard, assembled and installed new MB, plugged the SATA drives back in and it booted fine with no graphics problems !! Maybe a half an hour total! What a pleasant surprise! Things zip along nicely. The only thing I did was to purge all unneeded nvidia stuff; that felt good!
