Dolphin search: matches missing!? - benit - 6th February 2017 [attachment=1172][attachment=1172] Dear all! I wanted to search for a specific document with a specific date in the beginning and ... found nothing, although I did enter the search term correctly. Please see attached screenshots. If I do not fully enter the search date, the Dolphin search is ok, but after entering the term after the second "." it does not work. Either I overlooked something or there is a limitation or a bug. Can you reproduce this? RE: Dolphin search: matches missing!? - kdemeoz - 7th February 2017 I can't solve your problem, but offer an alternative if you also can't solve it. I strongly believe Dolphin to be the very best file manager i've ever used in any distro or OS, & it's a strong advantage of KDE over other DE's. Nevertheless over the years there were times that Dolphin frustrated me by not finding what i needed in Search. I found a wonderfully powerful & reliable repos-available program to use, dedicated to searching. Recoll. FYI. RE: Dolphin search: matches missing!? - leszek - 7th February 2017 The search is a bit strange indeed in Dolphin. What about entering the 20 without the dot in front with a space instead? And yes I also think this is clearly a bug as dolphin search does not work like people expect it to work. So reporting upstream to bugs.kde.org would be a wise thing to do. |
