(Solved) How to restore default "task bar"? - Kurtbw - 18th March 2017

Okay, I've blundered into a mess with the Plasma desktop.

Somehow, I've managed to blow away the original Maui panel ("taskbar") which had the application launcher, Dolphin, etc. (Don't ask, it was my fault and I can't recreate it.) I'm also confused thoroughly as to what the default overall theme,  window action, needs setting.

Is there an easy way to reset it to get it back to what a clean install of Maui looks like?  That is, with all items located at the bottom of the screen? I hope I'm expressing this in a way folks understand here.

Thanks much.

If you choose "use desktop layout from theme" in the look and feel section before you hit apply, it should fix most, if not all, of your current issues.

Ahhh, yes.  That did fix 95% of the issues.  Thank you, AJ, for calling my attention to the checkbox. Obviously, I'm still finding my way about how to customize the desktop in KDE.

After searching through the forums, I figured out what happened to the "About system" module in Ksysinfo, and fixed it.

Now all I have to do is figure out how the Yakuake icon in the default panel got turned into a generic one.

Take a look at our upgrade announcement: https://mauilinux.org/upgrading-maui-2-x-maui-17-03/

I mentioned it under Hints

Hi leszek,

You do indeed have that item mentioned there in the upgrade announcement.  Silly me, I had backports enabled & just let Update Manager do its thing.

Thank you for your help. I'm learning a little more about KDE & Linux every day.  Idea
