network traffic monitor on a per-app basis? - benit - 13th April 2017 I am looking for a graphic network traffic monitor that shows me the bandwidth for up/download per application so that I can see which application causes the consumed bandwidth. Would be nice, if there would be a plasma widget for it!? Thank you very much for any hint! RE: network traffic monitor on a per-app basis? - leszek - 13th April 2017 There is a global network monitor that shows you a nice graph per device. I never saw a plasma widget showing this per application though. RE: network traffic monitor on a per-app basis? - benit - 19th April 2017 Could you please let me know the link of the global network monitor? Thank you very much in advance! RE: network traffic monitor on a per-app basis? - leszek - 19th April 2017 It comes preinstalled as it is part of plasma-workspace RE: network traffic monitor on a per-app basis? - benit - 19th April 2017 That is fine! Where to find it and how to use it? RE: network traffic monitor on a per-app basis? - leszek - 19th April 2017 Its in the add widget menu. So right click on the desktop and click on add widget. RE: network traffic monitor on a per-app basis? - benit - 20th April 2017 I am sorry... now I know what you mean. Of course I know this widget! I was referring to any application that would allow me to monitor the network traffic by application / process so that I can figure out which application / process is contributing how much to my overall network traffic. I hope you have a hint for me for this, too. Any user friendly app is ok for me, hopefully GUI, but not a must. RE: network traffic monitor on a per-app basis? - benit - 21st April 2017 Maybe this link has some value? My technical / console knowledge is too limited to understand, if this would help me: https://www.dynacont.net/documentation/linux/network_monitoring/ RE: network traffic monitor on a per-app basis? - leszek - 21st April 2017 Interface listeners basically but application that lists per app network usage. |
