How to burn a collection of symlinks (of images) - benit - 29th June 2017

I created a collection of images via symlinks:

I copied the whole image folder as symlinks to another folder and deleted all symlinks of images that I do not want.

Then I tried to burn that collection with k3b, but that does not work.

How can I make Plasma treat the symlinks as regular files? If this is not possible: How can I convert the symlinks back to regular files?

This is only supported on certain filesystems.
You need to copy the real data onto the cd. Otherwise it is not possible.

That is really bad news...

How can I convert the symlinks back to files again?

Would the solution found in this link be valid for maui, too?

Sorry, it creates hardlinks, but my understanding is that this would work exactly like files, even for burning, right?

Yes hardlinks are more like real files so it should work for burning.
Though I never tried this Smile
