As described above: Should not hovering over a window entry in the window list display a thumbnail of the window so that one can better grasp what content it has?

This feature only works on non minimized windows at least on x11.

What does that mean "on X11"? And why does it work only on non minimized windows? Is it not possible to get that working for minimized windows? It would make even more sense for minimized windows than for maximized windows as these could by chance be visible at least partially...

X11 or X Window System = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X_Window_System
So technically it is not possible to provide a live image that updates itself of a hidden/minimized window.
With the unofficial successor of X Wayland it wil be possible and is possible already. But Wayland support in Plasma is still not ready for prime time.
