Screen Lock problems (Nvidia 384.90) - fanisatt - 24th October 2017 Screen Lock procedure can't run normaly after an update of nvidia driver I took today (384.90). Sometimes I have to reset and restart . Some other times the ctrl-alt-f2 , loginctl lockup-sessions and ctrl-alt-f7 procedure is working. Any help to make the system working as previous ? RE: Screen Lock problems (Nvidia 384.90) - leszek - 24th October 2017 See this: https://blog.martin-graesslin.com/blog/2017/08/warning-nvidia-driver-384-69-seems-to-be-broken-with-qtquick/ Downgrade the driver or switch to use the nouveau driver if possible until Plasma 5.11 is out for Maui. RE: Screen Lock problems (Nvidia 384.90) - fanisatt - 24th October 2017 Thank you Leszek ! I would like to downgrade the nvidia driver but I don't know the secure how-to ....!!! With synaptic I can see the nvidia binary driver package ver. 384.90 and version 340 ! I can also see a lot of transitional packages . I would appreciate a little more help to downgrade the driver without ...side effects.... Regards ! RE: Screen Lock problems (Nvidia 384.90) - leszek - 24th October 2017 Do you happen to know which driver you used before? If the older driver isn't available anymore you need to remove the currently installed version and manually install the old version. If you don't know how this is done. The most secure way might be just removing the proprietary driver and switch to using the opensource driver. This can be done via systemsettings driver manager easily.
