The good thing with the new volume applet is you can right-click on its tray icon and should be able to bring up also pulseaudio volume. Maybe that brings more insight?

It needs Balloo to index everything, which Maui has disabled default for various reasons. Simply enable it in the System Settings.

@ali: even though 30+ peers an hour after release, it seems it's still in the "bootstrap process" before the torrent gets up to speeds.

Small comfort: If you reinstall, you could go with Maui 17.03 right away.

Well, nothing is perfect. ;) Mint KDE also does an excellent job being based on Kubuntu and for Maui it was quite a tough ride splitting from Netrunner, switching from Kubuntu to Neon in the process ...

This is Ubuntu + Plasma, so it's naturally a lot easier. Netrunner is taking the hard route and make KDE Plasma on Debian a similar experience.
