I am no dropbox expert, but I just happened to finally install dropbox-nautilus from synaptic yesterday and it installed and was set up just fine.
1) When you installed the package, it did it download and install and then give you a chance to enter you login info?
2) Hit Ctrl-ESC and quick search for dropbox. Is is running?
3) Do you have the dropbox icon in your taskbar?

@chatan
Do you mean nautilus-dropbox?
Isn't this intended for gnome's nautilus integration?
@The_Doctor
For dolphin integration you just need the dolphin-plugins package.

PS: Dropbox should sync automatically. However, clicking on the tray icon should give you a context menu where you can change your preferences.

Searching synaptic for dropbox didn't show that package.
But nautilus-dropbox is working fine so far, and if I remember correctly from using the dolphin-plugins back in my netrunner day, I am more comfortable with the implemenation of nautilus-dropbox.
