No Network / Internet connection - karlheinrich - 24th June 2017

This started about a week ago and I just can't find a solution to this problem.

Desktop computer, OS Version: Maui 17.03 "Cuba Libre"
Build Version: 20170303.1839’s server DNS address could not be found.
I checked (the best to my abelities) on the suggested Details but no success.

Dropbox will not connect and the Update Manager can not be refreshed "The repository may no longer be available or could not be contacted because of network problems."

However the Connections-System Settings Modules window indicates that my Wired Ethernet (enp2s0) is connected which is supported by my router status in
Connection Type: PPPoE
Login Status: Connected

Restarting the network manager and router do not make any difference.

root@maui-pc2:~# ping

root@maui-pc2:~# telnet 22
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused

Nevertheless, when using Opera webbrowser with VPN I can surf the web; And when connected to my VPN client (PIA) the Internet function is fully restored.

I kindly request assistance to my Internet/Network functioning again without using VPN.

Try manually add a dns server in the settings of your wired connection of the network manager.

Thanks but this isn't working and give up after many days of trying to fix this problem. Never mind, I continue using the VPN until a new version of Maui is issued. A new/fresh installation is much less frustrating and time consuming. Thanks again!
