This started about a week ago and I just can't find a solution to this problem.
Desktop computer, OS Version: Maui 17.03 "Cuba Libre"
Build Version: 20170303.1839
www.google.com’s server DNS address could not be found.
I checked (the best to my abelities) on the suggested Details but no success.
Dropbox will not connect and the Update Manager can not be refreshed "The repository may no longer be available or could not be contacted because of network problems."
However the Connections-System Settings Modules window indicates that my Wired Ethernet (enp2s0) is connected which is supported by my router status in http://192.168.1.1/
Connection Type: PPPoE
Login Status: Connected
Restarting the network manager and router do not make any difference.
root@maui-pc2:~# ping 192.168.1.101
PING 192.168.1.101 (192.168.1.101) 56(84) bytes of data.

root@maui-pc2:~# telnet 192.168.1.102 22
Trying 192.168.1.102...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused
Nevertheless, when using Opera webbrowser with VPN I can surf the web; And when connected to my VPN client (PIA) the Internet function is fully restored.
I kindly request assistance to my Internet/Network functioning again without using VPN.
TIA.
