Can anyone point me in the right direction to properly install Nvidia prime? Such as whether I should uninstall open source drivers, if I need to run any terminal commands, etc....

Eh think I got it working. Just installed nvidia prime and then switched to proprietary drivers in the drivers app. But now I realize I don't have any sound in any application.....

So you use hdmi output for sound? Did you try launching the mixer or go into settings to see if the correct sound card is selected and its volume is turned up?
