Pesisitent Brown Square [solved]

I have a persistent brown square on my desktop. It stays when I change the wallpaper. When I right click, I get a list: undo, redo, cut,copy, paste, delete, clear, select all. The only choice that gets a response is paste and then the puts in Sparky Linux. That is a distro I recently downloaded and tried in Virtual Box. But I completely cleared my virtual box.

Anyone have an idea of what it is?

Could it be the notes widget on the desktop ?
With a long click on it does a menubar appear that allows you to resize, move and even close/remove the widget ?
