I did install Latte dock yesterday. It does have some different ways of doing things. But I didn't find it too difficult to setup. One really strange thing that I did notice though was that you get an entirely different settings menu if you run latte dock through the menu vs using a widget. Using it as a widget is entirely frustrating and does not really work. Instead, you have to run latte dock as a program. Maybe that was the issue you were having.

Thanks Fargo,
Yes, when I try latte dock I run / config like widget, I don't try to run as program. When I install again, I try run as program. Thanks!

Yeah, it was almost by accident I found that out. I was frustrated with the settings and so I was searching for latte dock settings program in the main menu. When I clicked on Latte Dock it opened a new instance of latte dock. But this program version ran much better. It gave a lot of setting options. like the menu you see on this page
https://github.com/psifidotos/Latte-Dock. I installed latte dock from the download link on this page https://github.com/ubuntuvibes/Debs Good luck. Let me know how it works for you. My current setup looks very much like elementary Linux with Latte dock on the bottom the using simple menu with a taskbar at the top of the screen. I'm really liking my current setup. |
