Hi AJSlye,
GtkStyle was the right hint. In the system settings under Widget Style of GNOME/GTK Applications - GNOME Application Style (GTK) - GTK Themes you can find a line for Font and a button to choose. I changed the font and the size and everything is okay. Thank you. Problem solved.
