Yeah, it was almost by accident I found that out. I was frustrated with the settings and so I was searching for latte dock settings program in the main menu. When I clicked on Latte Dock it opened a new instance of latte dock. But this program version ran much better. It gave a lot of setting options. like the menu you see on this page

Good luck. Let me know how it works for you. My current setup looks very much like elementary Linux with Latte dock on the bottom the using simple menu with a taskbar at the top of the screen. I'm really liking my current setup.
