It should be enabled by default in discover. Just make sure to also have plasma-discover-updater installed aswell.

If you don't have notifications make sure in systemsettings -> notifications that under discover the notifications for updates is activated.

Plasma-Discover-Updater also provides a plasmoid widget that you can activate in your system tray settings or add to the panel as new widget. I think this is necessary to get the notifications successfully.

Hi Leszek,

all the passages that You wrote are applied.
The problem is that Discover don't search automatically new updates, so I must do manually in a terminal (Konsole) sudo apt-get update than, after this, Discover shows updates (also in the system tray). It seems that Discover doesn't search updates without a manual work.

I have not seen any sign that there are any updates to take for a long time (but there was a sign during my first days in MAUI) !!
Reading now to this issue I checked for updates (as usual) with update manager . My system was ok today - no updates ! (I had taken updates via update manager yesterday.)
But...after this I immediately checked with Discover for updates and there were 8 updates !! I took them....
Anyway , it seems to me that something is not ok here.
Are the updates we take via mint-update different from those we take via discover ?
Perhaps there is a need for a unified user reminder process .

Yes there are differences. We recommend using mintupdate to see all updates.
Synaptic might only show updates which don't install or remove other packages.
Discover does show them however.

Sorry , sorry I made a serious mistake before !
First I checked for updates with the update manager (mint update) and my system was ok (no updates) and after this I immediately recheck with discover and I found eight updates.
That's all.,....!

So is it okay now or you still wonder why Discover shows 8 updates?
