Kmail: German Umlaute not printable

Dear all!

I have opened an email in Kmail and wanted to print, but I get a message that printing is currently not fully supported and that for this reason the email is opened in an external browser (for Maui 17.06 this is Firefox).

Unfortunately the text then does not show German Umlaute any more, but some cryptic digits that I suppose are HTML code or something like this.

How can I print the email with German Umlaute? Do I have to install something?

Hy

the only thing I see at the moment is to install a second browser like "opera-stable". Then all printable documents are automatically opened with opera. Opera (and probably other browsers) will display the Umlaute (ÄÖÜ) correctly. If you want to print a document, kmail stores the document in the /tmp folder . Maybe that is why Firefox got some problems with the "Umlaute". In more recent versions of kmail the good old printing dialog will be back.

Just to make clear: a second browser for printing only. If you use Firefox then all links in Kmail will be opened with Firefox. but if you want to print, then opera (in this case) will be opened for printing your document.
I am using Vivaldi browser as my default browser, so everything works perfectly.
