Did you use mint update to perform the updates, including level 4 and 5 updates?
Did you reboot after the updates?

I have yet to do the Maui 1 to Maui 2 upgrade on this system, so I'm still running Maui 1, not maui 2.
However, this should make make a difference.
Akanadi should have already been installed by default, just disabled.
To enable akonadi you need to have KDE wallet enabled and configured, as well as akonadi enabled under plasma services.
There should be no need to install akanadi console.
I never run Nvidia drivers as I don't buy thier products as a matter of principle.
I also never make any settings adjustments, or install additional applications, to the default installed system.
