Waiting still to learn of the AD Dev's VM tests with Maui, but in the meantime i did more tests of my own today. Installed AD [using same Deb file mentioned above] in my Tower's Mint 18 KDE VM, & in my Lappy's Mint 17.3 KDE VM. Was able to successfully connect, both directions. So now i've seen with my own eyes at least, that AD can work, under at least some circumstances. I must say, even with its settings made for best speed, latency was high & not at all better than TV, despite the AD boasts of being the fastest. Maybe my poor speeds were only due to AD running in VMs rather than direct in main OS... but until AD Dev tells me how to make AD run in Maui, my hands remain tied. I'm hoping it might be as simple as some missing library files.
Hi,
Today, again TV 12 fail, when restart, again have the same problem.
I try with this:

(9th January 2017, 23:55)Pliny.D.Elder Wrote: [ -> ]Could you try: sudo -s
teamviewer --daemon enable
systemctl enable teamviewerd.service
systemctl start teamviewerd.service

But not works, first, with TV opened a try whits above, not works.
Then, I close TV and try again, TV not start and I need start manually, also, not works...
Can i just clarify? -- when you still had TV11, before you upgraded to 12, none of these failures occurred [in Maui]... is that correct?

Just to double or triple-check your v12 Deb file; mine is:
teamviewer_12.0.71510_i386.deb
sha512 [via GtkHash] = edc1e5823939f20a9879bd29d952a728275f5f190ad434b95e71e886086b8aca407749d5671284cec9b20007aaa4b5907c84a83cc4921f9f715738cd33c704db

Finally (i've just re-read this thread, & don't think we've covered this already], can you pls attempt the next TV12 launch in Konsole, not with the Applications Menu launcher, & paste the output here for us all to see?

Also, its correct, and always that I need reinstall TV, I go to website and download the file.

For comparison, this is what i get if i launch TV12 in Konsole...
Code:
Z97-HD3:~$ teamviewer

Init...
CheckCPU: SSE2 support: yes
XRandRWait: No value set. Using default.
XRandRWait: Started by user.

...it's identical to yours, yet mine always successfully launches & yours doesn't. Weird!

Remind me pls; once TV12 launch fails like this, how DO you manage to start it? Is it only from having to logout/in again from Maui, or even worse only after reboot?

When TV12, the reboot not solved the issue but only some time, whit reboot start well.
Never I try with login/our from Maui.
When fail, for solved, I need reinstall TV12 and never shutdown or reboot, only I suspend my computer.

Regards.
Goodness, that's dreadful. I'm really sorry, but i have no more ideas why it's broken for you but not others. Whilst i've not found them greatly helpful in the past, is it worthwhile you emailing the TV Devs for help? In the meantime, is it an acceptable workaround for you to go back to TV11?

Once the AD Dev gets back to me again [think i might ping him again; it's now been several days since he said he was going to install Maui in a VM & test AD in that to see for himself], IF he manages to help me get AD working for Maui, i will post the results here... maybe then if AD could get fixed also for you, changing from TV to AD might be a new option for you.
