I recently installed Maui to an external hard drive. My machine is a eight year old i5 quad with 8 gb ram and an old nvidia 240 graphics card. Motherboard has on board alsa sound. In order to solve issues with my machine I have tried several Distros in the last two months. Maui has found and set my sound correctly and enabled the installation of alien software (Skype and Google Earth).
