We managed it so far since Maui 2 which basically started with that model.
As everything is based on Ubuntu LTS one can simply activate backports on Maui 2.0 and basically is on the same software version then like 17.03 though we might've added some widgets or configuration changes on the ISOs for official 17.03
We are testing and syncing stuff up in backports-neon with the neon upstream repo. And keep our own backports repo up to date with our packages.
