intel vs. modesetting

I saw that neon is switching to the modesetting driver by default using package xserver-xorg-video-intel-native-modesetting. Is that going to happen with Maui soon as well? I know Debian switched to modesetting some time ago as well...

Yes we will ship this package aswell with some future sync of the neon package repo.
If we will switch to it being installed (the normal xserver intel driver being removed) by default is something we will evaluate.

I've just tried the modesetting driver (installed it from the backports repo, since it just came into it) and it works very well. No problems so far, even looks to be more smooth than intel (but it might just be placebo )
