After normal login, the graphic display did not start. I switched to a terminal session (CTRL-ALT-F1) and from there (after logging in ), i launched the command startx and everything was allright.
This has already happened 3 times (since February) . At least for the last 2 times (during the past 7 days), I have not installed or updated anything. I have the Intel integrated driver.

That makes no sense.
Xorg is started by the display manager that shows you the login screen.
So the issue you describe here is that you cannot login?

The login screen was displayed normally and I logged in. But the then I got a grey empty screen. I waited for a little bit , but still no normal display of the desktop. And then i decided to do what I described.

So Plasma failed to start.
If that happens the next time try looking and saving the log of sddm.log in /var/log/

Hmm... strange. Maybe the /var/log/Xorg.0.log has some entries that could explain whats going on.
