Do you happen to know which driver you used before? If the older driver isn't available anymore you need to remove the currently installed version and manually install the old version.
If you don't know how this is done. The most secure way might be just removing the proprietary driver and switch to using the opensource driver. This can be done via systemsettings driver manager easily.
