Also please try reinstalling the Opera browser and see if it fixes the issue.
If it might be a configuration problem creating a new temporary user might help to test if it works there with t clean opera configuration.

I tried everything youd said and get the same situation. Opera is still not working.
I get the same message from the terminal:
maui:~$ opera
(process:2843): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
Using the fallback 'C' locale.
