I forget what key you hit in grub to see the boot menu, i think its f8, it will show the newest kernel as default at the top of the list and if you want to boot back to the old kernel you have to select it off the list but the default will be the 4.7 I've never installed a new kernel that didnt become the default after reboot, on netrunner 14 i went from 3.13 to 3.16 to 3.19 and then to 4.2 and each time after installing the new kernel it became the default.
